POHA
Poha is a popular Indian breakfast dish made with flattened rice, vegetables, and spices. Here's a recipe for making delicious poha:
- 2 cups of flattened rice (poha)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 potato, chopped
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 1/4 cup of peanuts
- 1/2 teaspoon of mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- Coriander leaves for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Rinse the poha in cold water for a minute, drain the water and set it aside to soften.
- In a pan, heat the oil and add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onion, green chili and sauté for a minute.
- Add the chopped potato and peanuts and sauté for 2-3 minutes until the potato is cooked.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the softened poha and mix well until everything is well combined. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with lemon wedges.
