Matar Paneer Recipe.

Matar Paneer is a popular vegetarian dish in Indian cuisine, which consists of green peas (matar) and paneer (Indian cottage cheese) cooked in a rich and creamy tomato-based sauce. Here is a recipe to make Matar Paneer:


Ingredients:
  • 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 200 grams paneer, cubed
  • 2-3 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1-2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons oil or ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions:
  1. Heat oil or ghee in a pan on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions, green chilies, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Saute for 2-3 minutes until the onions turn translucent.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add green peas and paneer cubes. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes until the peas are cooked and the paneer cubes are lightly browned.
  6. Add garam masala powder and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
Your Matar Paneer is now ready to be enjoyed as a delicious vegetarian meal.
